Q & A with Demi Gane of Harcourts Tasmania

IW: What would you do during a typical day?

DEMI: My role is very diverse but generally my daily tasks involve, reaching out to business owners, creating training content and presentations, drafting training EDMs, planning for future training sessions and Cert IV support.

IW: How did you get into this industry?

DEMI: I kind of fell into the industry by accident. I had just completed my final year of schooling when I came across a receptionist position advertised with a Harcourts office here in Tasmania and decided to apply because I wasn’t excited about going to Uni and I guess I never left.

IW: What do you enjoy most about your job?

DEMI: I love the mentoring and coaching component with agents and working with agents who are studying Certificate IV in Real Estate.

IW: What is the most challenging part of your job?

DEMI: Speaking in front of large groups of people. I haven’t had a great deal of experience in public speaking but the more and more I do it, the more comfortable and confident I’m becoming.

IW: What advice would you give others that are looking to move into this industry?

DEMI: If you’re thinking real estate isn’t for you, give it a go as you might surprise yourself. There are so many opportunities in this industry, so don’t limit yourself.
