IW: How did you get into this industry?

DONITA: I started in 2004 doing sales. Then a friend of mine convinced me to try Real Estate and I have never looked back. I did sales from 2004 – 2013 and then decided to go into Rentals from 2013 and am so grateful I made the move.

IW: What do you enjoy most about your job?

DONITA: I am a people’s person. I love meeting new people.  I also love properties especially beautiful homes and to me it is finding that perfect HOME for a family.

IW: What is the most challenging part of your job?

DONITA: Rentals is very demanding and a 24/7, 365 days a year kind of job. The most challenging part of my job I would say is to please both landlord and tenants.  I am normally the punching bag.  The other challenge is that I am never able to switch off and this year will be the first time in 10 years that I have decided to take a break, so I have booked an overseas trip later in the year.

IW: What advice would you give others that are looking to move into this industry?

DONITA: Perseverance is key, never give up. Invest in yourself by gaining as much wisdom in the industry, always keep yourself well informed.  I do believe in also having a hobby or interest to do in order to switch off from time to time, for me, that is going to the gym, keeping fit and healthy at all times, if I do not look after myself I cannot look after my business or family.
