Q & A with Shaktika

IW: What would you do during a typical day?

SHAKTIKA: My typical day would start by loving and getting my kids ready for school. One of my most valued traits is punctuality. I arrive at the office at 9:00 AM each day and attend to my various set tasks for the day. My set tasks can consist of attending staff meetings, negotiations with buyers and vendors, exchanging contracts, speaking with solicitors and many more. Real estate is an extremely diverse industry, which means each day differs from the last.

IW: How did you get into this industry?

SHAKTIKA: When we migrated to Sydney from NZ, we faced a lot of challenges regarding accommodation and being approved for a rental property. My husband & I then decided that we want to help people who are in the same position as we once were.

IW: What do you enjoy most about your job?

SHAKTIKA:  Making people smile, hearing them say "Shaktika you are amazing, I trust you and I know my asset is in great hands". It is so rewarding. My passion is negotiation as it gives me an opportunity to build a relationship with the client as well.

IW: What is the most challenging part of your job?

SHAKTIKA:   Making staff perform 😂!  Staying motivated is definitely a challenge, especially with the multiple responsibilities I need to accommodate to at once. Though, my goals and reason for my work always set me back on track!

IW: What advice would you give others that are looking to move into this industry?

SHAKTIKA:  My advice to any upcoming members of this industry is: It is not easy! You will need to invest all your effort and time into this industry in the beginning to succeed. I suggest that newcomers do a thorough research of the industry before making decisions to choose it as a career and to stay committed to their decision as good things take time.
